Creating Alerts (Step 1/1)

An Alert is a request made by you to receive a text message if your train is delayed or cancelled.

In order to create Alerts it is probably best if you are a registered user on the National Rail Enquiries Online Journey Planner website and have verified your smartphone number. You can create alerts even if you are not registered but you will have to verify your phone number each time you do so.

You can create an Alert for just one journey or for a regular (i.e. commuter) journey, and you specify this in the Settings page, along with a number of other parameters, such as when you get alerted and the minimum delay required before you are sent an alert.

To create an Alert, you first need to create a Journey Plan and then pick the journey for which you want to create the Alert. Tap the Create Alert button and then tap Accept. That’s it!

If you are a registered user on the National Rail Enquiries Online Journey Planner website, you can view and manage your Alerts on the web site.
